Now I suppose you could call me a Honda man, although ive had plenty of Yamahas and the like over the past 40 years. But I have never been on a bike that made me want to sell it because it was just so boring. There was nothing wrong with my CBF1000, quite low mileage, comfy enough, etc, but I never got to where I was going thinking anything except, "well, I'm here". I always said that if you found a bike boring you were just not riding it hard enough. The Honda CBF1000 proved to me that I was wrong.

A very good bike if you aren't really bothered about bikes.

Just my opinion of course, there must be some people who like them.

I have also read that early models had electric problems, they have a endemic reg/rec/alternator kill zone issue...

:agree

Some did. Higher mileage ones suffered from alternator failures which Hooonda fixed under warranty even though some of the bikes were not within the warranty period still.

This one is fine though. I just don't use it enough to justify keeping it.

Same here, I didn't realise the Op was selling it or I would have kept my face shut.

My mate has a 2011 Gen 1 CBF1000 GT and he loves it, supremely reliable.

CBF SOLD to me, me, me. They are cracking commuter bikes and I'm one happy bunny. If you don't know CBF's as a commuter or tourer then  :finger

Why keep your face shut? Just cos an addy in here has one for sale your opinion and/or experience of owning one is still valid.
I doubt BB likes arse kisses anyway :rolleyes

Billy is actually right. I did say these are cracking commuter bikes and tourers. I liked my previous one because as a commuter it needs to be consistent, reliable, comfortable and with no vices. I can't do 100 miles a day on say an MV or a raw racer - I NEED what may be termed as dull and reliable. Commuting is all about getting there "full stop"!! You get your kicks on the weekends.

My 2nd commuter was a 650 Bandit - dull but reliable. My weekend fun was my Fazer which I had to sell during a lean time to fund recent Wembley play off final day treat for my son. A recent change of fortune (apart from the accident) means I can now look to find another Fazer.

Every bike has it's place, and role to play - fact.
