hi guys and gals

after buying my 2012 fazer 8 last week and hiding in the wings here, I thought id better join in and introduce myself properly
I'm in Nottingham, I'm 50 and have had literally 30-40 bikes maybe more in my time,
I just sold my w800 and bought the fazer8, everything is stock bar the exhaust ,which il come to in a minute, it already has a nice stainless rad guard, crash bobbins, and it came with a fugly rear carrier/topbox mount,
the exhaust.... I saw a video on youtube where a guy called bambam had fitted a zx10 stock end can to his fz8 and it sounded sweet and didn't look out of place, so I did the same and it sure does sound nice,
il get some pics up soon, and maybe a vid if our lad can do it for me because I'm shite at stuff that doesn't involve spanners
tarrar for now

sorry because I'm sure this is in the wrong place,
anyway since I bought my fazer 8 our lad cant keep off it, now he wants to sell his ccm r30 and buy a fz/fazer6 so my question is can these be restricted to 48 bhp legally so he can stay within the law on his a2 licence
thanks in advance

Hi Nelly and welcome. Yiu may have had your question answered by now but just in case.... I believe the rule is that the bike cannot make more than double the restricted limit as stock. So as long as it starts off with lead that 96bhp yiu can have it restricted. I'm not sure what the 600 makes but I know the old thundercat it was based off made 100bhp so you'd have to check ?

The FZS600 can be restricted as it makes 69.9 Kw but the FZ600 cannot as it it over the 70Kw limit

Restriction is 35Kw, (46.9Bhp or 47.5 Metric Hp) meaning anything that has a max 70Kw (93.8Bhp or 95 Metric Hp) can be restricted.
