Hard luggage for 2002 Gen1
#1
Im planning for a big two up trip next summer (Ireland) and as a result I need some luggage capacity. I tried soft panniers previously but they are too much effort getting on and off the bike and my wife cant get her feet on the pegs Sad

I looked at some Givi systems but they say suitable for 03-05 bikes, mines a 2002.

What have people used? is there a "best buy" set up that will do the trick?  Im thinking top box and side cases.

thanks for any help

I have a givi top box and arms fitted  and have just ordered a set of givi side case rails as I already have the cases , the rails I've just got are for the monokey system not the later v system and are "GIVI PL349" £110 for the gen 1 2001/05

Givi only recommend the 21L cases for the Gen 1, but I have the E41 side cases on mine. (2004 but the rear end is the same)

Pillion foot clearance seems a bit tight mind.

I've got Givi panniers and top case on mine (not sure what model/sizes etc), but with the cases on, my better half has to get seated first, (carefully) before I get on. Good kit, but, yes rear footrests can be an issue.

This is what I have on mine, the 21 liter Givis with a decent size top box. Depends on how light you and your other half travel I guess.

I found the cheapest place to buy Givi mounts new was Amazon, the shop is in Italy if I remember rightly, they turned up well packaged just took a bit longer to arrive. 'They all come from Italy anyway ' was my reasoning ordering them from abroad and saving a few quid.
It's easier to get more money than it is a day of your life back.
