As much as I love my FZ1 and the music the exhaust makes, I find that I wind it on a bit too much at times :eek and do it more often that not. Prior to this bike I had a Sprint 1050 but hated the service prices, riding position (even with bar risers) expensive add on extras but liked the fuel range and sound of the triple motor.
Thinking of another or second bike like a Vstrom, Tracer, Tiger or something along those lines as I prefer upright position. The Fazer is ok for about 90 minutes then I need to stretch my legs. Not looking for the fastest bike on the planet but something with a good fuel range would be handy and I'd like the option to throw a top box, tank bag and panniers on and disappear for a couple of days with the wife and equally some spirited riding when I'm on my own. I've looked on quite a few different forums but like us, there a bias bunch
For those of you who have a second bike or have left the fold what have you got or end up buying next. Probably looking at up to about £8k
I quite like the MV & BMW in a kinky sort of way :lol
The jury is still out on the Tracer. They've been out just over a year now and still not fully fixed the fueling jerkiness. I've ridden two and the second one it felt wallowy on the steering at around 60/70 mph. The throttle felt either on or off and needed a lot of clutch work compared to what I'm used to. Last year I was offered a demo Tracer at £7k or a new one £7.5k. Even today they still make good money - actually, I'll rephrase that - even today, they are still advertised at good money! Seem to be a lot of 1 private owner with low mileage ones about which makes you think as well ...

Moto Guzzi Stelvio 8V! This fits the bill, pipe and slippers optional . . . :lol
Treat everything in life the way a dog would- if you can't eat it or foc it, forget it.

Being serious for once - I reckon a nice V Strom 650 will suits your needs perfectly, good range/economy, enough power, comfy as hell and will handle 2 up with a weekend camping load. Good luck :thumbup
Those are my principles...if you don't like them I have others.
I quite like the later Strom 650, nice and light and hold there money fairly well. I had a look at a 3wk old Tracer for £7350. Bog standard bike with the cr4p standard tyres in race blu but at that price I might as well buy a new one. Still very undecided as nothing has jumped out and shouted buy me.

Sounds like you want a Tracer....
Errrrr nope, I do believe the perfect bike for Nath is the MV Agusta Brutale as below

Im with Frosties.......these really are nice i would love one.
I didnt get on with my fz1 either & i much prefer a lighter bike.
Still havent ridden one but for the most natural riding position from just sitting on them id say the Versys 650.
Easiest way to go fast........don't buy a blue bike
The Versys does look ugly from the front but then again the Tracer isn't that far from it with the Johnny 5 from short circuit or whatever it's called headlights.
The Vstroms seem to hold there money quite well, or the owners on the web forum are chancing their arm asking for that extra premium. Saw advertised a 12 plate GT done 23k up for £3.5k. Need to find out that whatever I do get has some decent headlights on for night riding. My Fazer has great headlights and probably the best I've had on a bike in x amount of years.
