Bleeding back brakes

Hi, just fitted a thou caliper upgrade for back brakes and cannot for the life of me get them bled. Tried one side then the other but they will not bite. Been at it for ages.  Any advice appreciated. Ta.

It can be common to end up with a big air bubble at the banjo bolt at the master cylinder.  You can try slackening the banjo bolt to let the bubble out, and then wipe up the spilt brake fluid or temporarily take the caliper off the bracket and tie it up so it's higher than the master cylinder and bleed it there making sure you put something between the brake pads so you don't push the brake pistons out

Thanks. Have Tried the 1st idea already. Will have a go at the 2nd. One thing i noticed; the brake hose is bent at quite an acute angle at the banjo on the caliper. Perhaps this is affecting the air removal. Maybe i need a longer hose with the thou caliper?

sort the kink in the brake hose firstly
then if still no joy put a length of pipe on each nipple and the other end into a bottle with old fluid in
and pump the pedal you`ll see the air come out  the fluid will bubble

Maybe you could try routing it to the outside of the swingarm? Just a thought as I took off my rear end last week and noticed it's fairly  tight with original routing to the inside.

Make sure you're not doing the stoopid mistake I made when doing this job. I had taken cap off fluid reservoir, but had left the rubber seal underneath it in place... Every time I pumped brake the rubber seal sucked down, but then immediately popped back up sucking the fluid backwards - doh!

Success?. Tying up the caliper while bleeding and routing hose on the outside of the swing arm was the answer...ably assisted by a grumpy tweenage daughter to press the pedal. Thanks to all. Chuffed to bits to be back on the road.
