Touring Luggage
#1
Hi

This is my first post on here, so hi there Guys. I have purchased a 2007 Fazer 100o ABS, which I am intending using for a few trips in Europe. The range of Luggage available is really good nowadays, but I thought I would ask to see what others have used and recommend, I'm not going for hard cases, so am looking at decent soft options, and I will need some quite large ones. I notice that GIVI do a sort of steady bar which keeps the luggage away from the wheel etc too.

I have a pretty decent Oxford tail pack, which I think will do for me, and I want a tank top bag (should I opt for the ones with the filler cap fixing ????

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi buddy,

I have the givi quick release tank ring and tank bag - the bag doesnt sit on the tank itself so no damage to your tank and it comes off dead easy for filling up. You can get various size bags depending on your requirements.... seem to do the job very well for me so far
Still a pupil at the school of life ....

Having read loads of good reviews, I think I'm gonna go for Kriega soft luggage. A US30 and perhaps a couple of US 20s should be enough for the longest of tours, and they're supposed to be properly waterproof without liners. The smaller bags will either attach to the side of the bigger one, sat on the pillion seat, or one can go on top of the larger one, and one as a tank bag.

And welcome to FOC-U!

Kriega are superb, especially since they introduced the hook strap system, have one of each US5,US10 & US20 and can't fault any of them. Alternatively, as a cheaper 'on-tour' option providing more than enough storage space the OP could opt for an Ortlieb (other makes are available) waterproof Drybag  or Rack-Pack and strap it onto the pillion seat with a pair of Rok-Straps (pic below shows an Ortlieb 50Lt Rack-pack secured with Rok-straps)
