Can't decide
#1
One of them has to go but I can't make up my mind which. Ride the mk1 today for the 1st time in 2 weeks and loved every minute, but then again the mk2 is lighter and feels a little more sporty. Don't have the funds to keep both :'( thoughts?

What you doing more of, scratching or touring?

Pillion or solo?

Luggage?

What do you feel more confident on?

What do you want out of them?

What have you spent on them?

I've had both, and I preferred the gen 1 for do it all biking, and the engine was far better for me. You can also ride them both as quickly as each other, they just 'feel' different.
Pillion, luggage, fuel consumption, do it all has gen 1 written all over it.

Scratching, cornering poise, top end grunt is the gen 2's bag.

Your choice, good luck!

Stop polishing it and ride the bloody thing!!

I have the Gen 11, I love it,only consider  changing it because it gets old,,i like to keep up with age, a 10 year old bike is old,,a bit different with that gen 1 , it's had the forks changed.
I certainly would consider the same,,a 2012 or so to follow mine,,,as all bikes I think you have to sort them to fit yourself,i have and my gen11 is fab to ride.

Butttttt......if you love the gen 1, then the writing is on the table

Sell the one you ride the least , you could always buy another Gen 1 if you miss it , the Gen 1 is a great all rounder but they are getting old now , also now autumn/winter is approaching it might be a bad time to sell .

Only had the gen 2 a week and not had chance to ride it in anger. The gen1 I've had for a while, it's well set up and has never missed a beat. I feel it's time for a change that's why when noggy's bike came up at the right money I bought it. I guess if I sell the gen1 I can always sell the gen2 in the future and get a other gen1.

Oh I don't know...it was never ridden fast by Noggy - too powerful, so should be a cracking bike  Big Grin

I'd sell the Gen1 on here for an attractive price to allow others to enjoy the experience of it  Wink . Come to me my precious......
Those are my principles...if you don't like them I have others.

I wasn't going to say anything, as it's really your decision to make, dependant upon want you want from a bike.

But now you've made that decision, can I just say...

WRONG DECISION!  :lol
