Front brake calipers

I need to get at least one, possibly both (not checked as yet) brake calipers for the front of my 51 plate FZS600.


Will brake calipers from any age FZS600 fit?  ie ones off a newer fox eye or are they specific to each model?

Yes any model from 1998-2003.

I had a thread on it a couple of weeks ago Darrsi (do keep up!  ), Punk took a look on the recent LOFO ride and agreed with what we had come up with on the thread, said it sounds like the pad moving in the caliper.


It's quite a loud tap everytime I use the front brake, if I release and re-apply I get another tap.

got the clips on the back of the pads? worn caliper where the pads seat on the sides?

The most simple and cheap way is to exchange your calipers. These guys offer that:

I have not used them myself yet, but seems good idea. For £62 you send your old caliper and they send you back the same model professionally refurbished with warranty. New one is £200. For both calipers you save £280. Make sense to me  :lol

Not sure how you can refurb a worn calliper?
Chances are that some pads are slightly bigger than others in design, which is more than likely the cause.
Unfortunately the only way of finding out what's best is by trying them, which is obviously not a simple or viable option.
