SamcoSports radiator hoses
#1
Anyone know if SamcoSports do a set of hoses for the FZS 600? Canna see one listed on their website. (http://www.samcosport.com/uk/)
Or otherwise know any other kit is a close enough match (Fazer 1000, YZF, R6 etc)?

I only ask, as I have apparently won a set in a competition and now just twigged I may not even be able to use the prize. Doh!

Have a search on here. Someone on the forum tried to get a group buy together for Samco hoses about a year ago. Not sure if it came to anything or not.

Or just give them a call. Just because it's not listed, doesn't mean they don't do it.

I doubt any other model hoses would fit. But happy to be proved wrong.
Feel the Fear and do it anyway!

Hi Arfa.

It was me that set up a group buy for silicone hoses a couple of years ago. We got them made by a UK based company called SFS performance. They made us a batch of 11. SFS originally said they would make individual kits once the general moulds had been manufactured for the first batch but when someone tried to order a single kit then they said they would only make more if we ordered another 10 kits, I tried to set up another group buy last year but didn't get enough interest.

As far as I could find out no other company made a kit for our FZS600. There are kits available for the FZ6 though so make sure they are sending you a kit for your bike and not for the later model. No other kits from other bikes will fit the 98 to 03 bikes.

All the best,

Chris

Sorry I can't be of more help...

All the info on the group buy is in this thread: http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,6189.0.html

It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.

Cool, thanks for the info. I'll see what they can offer. I guess worst comes to worst, I could just pick up a common kit for another bike (R6, R1 etc) and flog them on! It just would have been nice to stick them on my bike. Smile

No worries,

Yeah, they might have the right set for your bike but just make sure and be very specific about the year and model of your bike. As you say you could always get a kit for something else and flog it on but I love the silicone pipes on my bike, really sets it apart from other fazers.

Cheers,

Chris

Been in tough with Samco Sport separately (as I've still heard no more with regards to competition prize...grrr.)

They currently don't do a kit for the FZS600, but would be up tooling up to do a kit if there was enough interest (15-20 people) and were supplied with some doner original hoses as templates. Tempting, but based on the lack of interest you got last year Chris, I really dunno if it's gonna happen.

Yeah, doubt you would get that many people to order and no point getting them to make tooling for it after sfs already have the tooling made. You'd be better trying to get them to make you another set.

If SFS are still happy to do a batch of 10 I'd sign up for one.

I'm just going to say at this point that I'm not going to try and organise another group buy.

If anyone else wants to do it then I'm happy to tell you what I did/who I spoke to, but it took up a lot of time and effort which I just don't have at the moment. Plus, I already have a kit so I have nothing to gain from setting up another group buy.

I set up the original order and have tried to set up two orders since then, however they were unsuccessful due to people dropping out, not enough interest etc.

All the best,

Chris
