Hi everyone. First time posting. I have a 1999 Fazer 600. Bike has done 40k. Noticed it was slipping around 7k ish when riding, assumed clutch so ordered EBC clutch and heavy duty springs. Fitted it all today but now bike doesn't drive. When I engage the clutch it makes a slight noise behind the clutch cover. Any suggestions? Matt
Thank-you for the reply. Yes I was thinking about putting the standard springs back in as a test. Will do that and report back
Did you make any adjustments to the clutch mechanism on the sprocket cover?
If not are you sure the pressure plate is located correctly. It does not just go on in any position, you need to move it around to get the correct position. You will know when it is correct as it slots in better in the correct position.
I would advise returning to OEM springs, the heavy duty ones ruin the already good smooth clutch as they are too strong and will also cause undue wear on the clutch mechanism where the cable fits on in the sprocket cover
I had a similar issue the other week, I hadn't sat the top plate properly, flush in the basket before doing up the 6 sprung loaded bolts.
As already said, you will also need to fiddle about adjusting the clutch at the lever and sprocket cover.
