128 in a 30!

I hope he had his Porsche crushed and bollocks removed.

I know that road and even 60mph is dangerous. I used to be a 40mph road until a year or three back but got reduced as 40mph was an issue still for some people.

First bit I'd agree with - but why should the value of someones car have anything to do with their fine?

Because if you can afford a Porsche then a £200 fine is meaningless, unlike the rest of us where it hurts.

Why crush the car? Sell it off and give the dosh to a Road Safety charity!

My old man used to drive a classic Porsche 968 - cost him about £10k, was one of his dream teenage cars. He's now been saving up for years to buy himself a Jag (not quite the E-type he wanted, but this at least won't fall apart on him) - don't see why he, or anyone else should have to pay more for the same crime!

Joe what is the likely hood of your Dad doing 128mph in a 30 zone or any other zone. People who love classic cars as a rule cherish them and do not abuse them.

128mph is not abusing a Porsche. Driving like a tw@t however is not something a classic car owner does.

Well I do remember quite a few late night runs down to Canterbury on the A2/M whatever it is (4 lane A road, no speed cameras for bloody miles), and I've seen how he drives if he thinks he's gonna miss closing time at the bakers when they're basically giving away all the cakes  :lol

I know someone who said he got his Vmax to a hundred in town on a road that is only 0.2 miles long on google maps although he would have been doing about 20 at the start, of course it was a straight road with it being a Vmax? although I have never ridden one so don't know if they are as bad as they say?
