whatever happened to.......

I can see the point in having a facebook page and understand the whole foccers who've met type thing because you dont want just anybody knowing all your personal details and what you've just had for dinner.

But i really dont see the point in having 2 different facebook groups......why?....surely that's a bit cleeky & just watering down......or is one of them actually the foc-u peoples front and the other one is the peoples front of foc-u :b .....maybe theres a 3rd group that is really elite......with only 2 members.

Maybe there would be more meets if everyone was on the same page ie......the forum  :pokefun

Cant deny it though facebook messenger is a really good tool for organising any gatherings......but if it isnt a proper facebook group i think facebook can pull the plug at any time and just wipe it out, i mean if it is just set up as someones profile......ive heard it done recently with a martial arts club who were using facebook...twice its happened to them...everything lost in an instant...photos, groups, messages the lot.

No i agree not sure why their is more than one

the original was just for the people who had attended ,The spring meet ,gathering ,rip up etc to stay in touch on a more personal level.
but all the members had admin rights so anyone could add anyone so it is not a closed group really

The sad fact is people don't arrange full meets (well except Moff) and its more a ride out site now rather than a club as it was in the 00,s

I feel we have all done our bit arranging meets, foreign trips etc ,,time for the new blood to keep the forum vital IMHO

Its just a ride

A lot of what used to get posted in General on here, now gets posted of peoples personal pages on Facebook.
You know the internet memes bad jokes political stuff and alike.
As for cliques I remember when we had this discussion on the old board, lost count on how many cliques I was in  :lol .

The world moves on people are more vary of the net than they were in the old days, and are not so open about themselves on open forums like this, that can be viewed by anyone.
I only used to hang around General and meets really on here.
After Facebook started this boards traffic died off, and after a couple of years I gave in and went onto Facebook.

Like Ralphie says there's only so many times that you can read and answer the same questions.
On the real names thing.
I wonder how many do know my real name, I'm not using it on Facebook either, but I wonder how long that will last with Facebook freezing accounts of people that they suspect of not using real names on there  Confusedmokin
If you can find me I'll accept any friend request  :b

Bloody hell  :eek how long have you been able to edit your posts in General ?
And bring back moans and Groans, I miss the healthy discussions we used to have in there  :uhuh

I agree with Ralphie and Raz. But if there are 2 FB groups they ain't linked! There is after all, more than 1 Fazer 'forum'.

Not sure the FB group I'm in is invite only either. Mind you, bet there's more Fazer owners in the FB group lol .

Just to say that there had been a long decline in activity since we were switched from ezboard to Yuku. The move to this board reversed that trend for a while and we went from 50 posts per day to over 200. So I rekon the 'bookers were holding things back :lol

Bring back the flame pit.  Now that got the site hits up (usually when someone flounced off about something).

I think that "flaming" on a forum is when people deliberately say things to wind others up, so the flame pit would be where there is a section of he forum we go just to "flame each other"
Don't see the point as it seems that we already do that on the forum and most have enough humour to laugh it off .

I think I was a member of the old forum but am I right in remembering that I had to re-register for this new one - I have long since forgot my old name - had the bike since 2001

I'm still about, but alas like everyone else get fed up answering the same questions or giving advice or offers of help and never receiving any thanks.
