Been looking at the various motor policies I have and cancellation costs vary between £25 and £55 less any refund due for unused months. I knew it cost to make changes mid policy but being this is probably the first motor policy I have ever cancelled I wrongly assumed they would just cancel it.

So if there's a chance you will cancel a policy, this is something to bear in mind when obtaining quotes for cover !

Worth a thought if you intend to replace that vehicle in the near future though knowing them it's be a fee to freeze it and a fee to unfreeze it Sad

I bought a Honda NC750X  t'other week.  So wanted to swop insurance over.

The Fazer cost £78 for 12 months.                  They wanted another £240 to continue policy for the next 9 months.

I had a look round Meerkats thingy.  and bought 12 months for £120.  Great!

Now to find out how much I would get back for the 9mths left on the Fazer.

To cancel the old policy they wanted;-  £50  cancelation fee, +  £25 document feer, + % of discount they had given me when the policy was started.  Result I owe the £6 odd..

At least when I ask them to consult the manager about waving the £6 they did and it was waved....>>>><<<<
