Relocating Rear Indicators
#1
I got myself a pannier rack for my foxeye Fazer from Motohaus. I need to relocate the indicators, but not sure how to do it. Would I need to cut the wires and lengthen them? Or can I somehow disconnect them and rethread to where they need to go? Disconnecting them at the bulb end does not seem possible, so do I need to get to where the wiring to the indicators start?

good crimpimg tool and crimps, wires  under the seat towards back near tail unit if its standard indicators you probably cant as they mounted in a proper hole thingy lol but if after market i put mine onto the number plate via a piece of aluminuim with holes drilled in for number plate bolts and the last inch bent backwards with  holes drilled in end for indis mount and wire up

Yeah basically I have cut the wires. Lengthened them with new wire and re-installed indicators in new position. Was hoping not to cut originals, but seems there is no other way.

I bought a cheap short front set and stripped them both then used the short spacer with the rear indicators with the long leads and mounted them on the carrier using a 80mm piece of square black plastic gutter down pipe.  :eek

I cut the gutter down pipe piece in half to make two right angle pieces then drilled each piece to take the indicators and fit the carrier. Finally shaped it so it looks better.  Smile

Wires were then long enough to go up next to the rear light and into the connectors.
