New Gear
#1
One thing I've ever had is nice kit. I've been riding about 2 years, but always had hand me downs or budget kit. For example, I've been using some hand me down RST trousers for 2 years. They've got a hole in the crotch the size of a small moon, and have already been down the road once (I got them off my brother after his crash).

My jacket was an RK Sports budget type that I bought when I got my 125, and have had since. Ill fitting, nasty finish - the zip came off all together when I went to zip it up yesterday. My boots - RST hand me downs again. And yep, they'd been down the road too. And now have a nice whole in one of them due to years of wear.

Anyway, long story short is I just went out with the wife (her in her shiny £400 spada kit - not bad for someone that gets on the bike twice per year!) to look for a replacement jacket since my zip is bust. And I came away with £300 worth of RST kit - jacket, trousers, and boots.

Not sure my purpose of posting it here. Just suppose it feels nice to have some kit that fits properly, and that feels like it could survive a trip down tarmac alley should it ever happen.

Always good to get some new kit and it's a great time of year to get it. Just ordered myself some new weise trousers to go with my psycho jacket.

It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.

I was the same till about 5 years ago, then I splashed out on HG's pro shell textile kit.

I wont say what it cost me :o but for a bit more I wish I had bought Rukka gear..

Ahh hindsight  :rolleyes

That im afraid is the price you must pay to get her aproval of you having a bike.  Its the wife tax, my wife tax is paid in handbags !!
I don't do rain or threat there of. dry rider only with no shame.

My wife got new gear the same time as me, that was my 'I want it now tax'.

Well, when we bought kit for her I was adamant it had to last a good few years. But with hand me down kit being available at the time, my tight-arsery was saying that kit would do.

Does feel really good to have some nice gear though. Just need a helmet with a flip down visor as sun was blinding today, but that can wait a bit.

She was even hinting at a new bike. Who knows, once this house move is out the way, she may let me go crazy....

I bought the RST Adventure trousers at the end of summer and treated myself to the RST Paragon2 jacket just before Christmas. Best bits of kit I've ever had. Warm, dry and cozy and nowhere near as expensive as other brands out there!

If the missus ever needs new kit I tell her to go buy some. One of the joys of her having a job that pays more than me!

AGV horizon lids have sun visors and the whole range was discounted recently to make way for next years styles, I've just got one and its great.

I just called into my local shop and made a CRAZY offer of 40 notes for a Richa jacket with zip out Cordura underarm panels (leaving ballistic mesh for the warmer days) and the shop owner didn't even haggle! Brand new jacket for £40!!! Really nice fit too!

Even better, same day, I went on fleabay and picked up a brand new pair of matching Richa trousers, in my size (sometimes it's good to be a giant) for £50! Now I've got the zip together twopiece which opens up the world of track days for me! For less than a ton!

Having nice kit is GOOD!

I had a right result on Fleabay over Christmas.

Worn once Furygan Titan worth £270 and matching Duke trousers worth £170 in my exact size for £165 the pair :lol . Silly sod didn't get permission to get a bike - he only managed the CBT in secret. Ahhhh well, the powers of internal management.

Also treated myself to new TCX Infinity from local dealer who price matched the lowest online price I could find of £189.
