Nice shock,,how much is them???? ooohh ,,I probably have the opposite problem to some riders I, I am 11 stone,,so could do with a fluid moving shock,not too hard sprung,fully adjustable ,maybe that one

Thinking of changing FZS for FZ1 just to have a newer Bike is it worth it???

The main reason I changed from my 1996 vfr was that no breakdown company would promise repatriation of my bike back from Europe, the max age you get full cover was 12 years old,,some are 10 years old,
Otherwise I would still be riding my trusty VFR and would of never stumbled on this forum with its nest of twisted ,muddled middle aged Foocwits,, :lol  oh and the nicehelpful ones.

when I got my FZ-1 in 06 I wanted blue with black engine. Had none but silver . At 5995 brand new OTR I couldnt refuse tbh....

would now be intrested to try a later bike with better fuelling  and shock etc. Even after all my spending  on tuning ( £1100), it still didnt pull like I wanted. Loads of power , but felt weak to ride in top till 7k rpm.That really influenced my thinking of the bike.

Am very interested in the new S1000R naked beemer....but have sneaking feeling that will feel like a FZ-1 to ride still..... :\

On the plus side, always loved the sweet handling of the FZ-1...and rather oddly I now own a beemer whose engine I could also  happily toss in the bin, but has probably the best handling  chassis I have ever ridden ! ... us bikers are indeed very fickle... :lol

You like the look of the new s1000r naked? I'm not saying it won't be a cracking bike, but i think it is seriously ugly.. Why not an Aprilia tuono v4r? I've got one, so if you want to know anything about them give me a pm.

If you want low down stomp don't bother with an IL4 1000! GO try either a big bore 4, so something like an XJR1300 or GSF1250 (but they won't handle as well), or maybe a twin/triple, something like a Tuono or Speed?

Am interested actually don't mean I will buy one ! Its more from a perspective of its a bmw and I may be trading my GS in, so its always an easier swop if you keep to bmw. But I do agree, I have read several articles now, and none are " wow" !. The 160 crank bhp will probably be quite close to a modded FZ-1(my 06 was 144 at wheel). To me its not enough !...its way cheaper to buy FZ-1 and modify.Even me 10 yr old trusty FZS has 139 at rear wheel and a very flat torque curve. I am guessing it wont even feel as grunty as that till much higher revs.
And I agree, its all looking  a bit underwhelming .Don't like the headlamp cluster , it looks like it still  has a lower fairing , and the can is absolute pants . It looks to me like a early 00's sportbike with upper fairing removed....was expecting something just a bit different.

If I was going back to super naked, I probably would go speed triple as its engine is probably the gruntiest out there at low revs( apart from ktm 1290, but they is way different budgets), and its firmly in the whacky super naked genre, not just a sportsbike with top fairing ripped off !

as it is, another shite financial year will probably mean I stick where I am. Cant keep raiding the savings pot just to have  a new number plate!  :\
