Decided to do a bit on the bike today, balanced the carbs and changed/rad-flushed the coolant. Whilst the tank was off I thought I would have a quick look at the air filter as well. Result! its a K&N looked a bit yellow though so bought a re-charge kit and cleaned and re-oiled it, nice and pink again.


Will have to wait until tomorrow to see if it rides any better but the holed collector box probably doesn't help.

Today I serviced mine and my mates fazer as well

Oil was black as my soul. 
The spark plug electrodes were so warn that I have no idea how they were making a spark.
Swapped out the fuel filter as well

Got to flush coolant and wash out air filter next week
Then winter service done

Really need to do the plugs, probably go for some iridium ones as they made a noticeable improvement to my old funduro, not cheap though.

They're only a couple of quid more each than standard one's but should last a lot longer so they make economic sense.

Put my Fazer back together today. After last weeks off, I had the fairing off to bend the brackets back into shape. Decided to give them a lick of Hammerite whilst I was there, as they had the odd spot of rust (especially the side ones). Over this week, via the wonders of ebay a new mirror arrived, indicator lenses and plastic bolts for screen. Just about managed to remember which bolts/screw went where and got it all back and road worthy again. Sorted.

Still need new Givi rack/plate, that got bend/cracked in half. Belly pan is a right mess, and the one mounting point for the bobbin is seriously bent, torn metal and not going to hold up to much. Might look into some crash bars... But after sat for over a week, it still started immediately. A few more battle scars, but at least it's still running nice a sweet.

Could do with checking under the tank on Mary's ZZR400, borrowed it this week, but it's not quite right, hesitant, under powered and oddly pulses when trying to cruise at high speed. Hmmm, thinking crud'ed or unbalanced carbs. What do you reckon?

Unbalanced carbs are more noticable at lower speeds.

Can I be bothered to strip and rebuild the rear caliper today???
Wanted to wait until I had some braided hoses but times are hard but given how seized it is...


Not one of my favorite jobs.

If times are hard then I don't know why you'd waste your money on minor enhancements like braided hoses
