My bike is of poor health, I recently replaced the head gasket as it was burning coolant but to no avail, runs a bit better now ive corrected the valve clearances and overhauled the carbs but still burning coolant. I'll probably buy a "new" head and see if that solves the problem but first I'd like to get a compression tester to pindown the cylinder(s) that's burning coolant.
Looking online the majority of kits fit spark plugs 16mm and 21mm, the NGK CR8E has a 10mm diameter but a 16mm hex size... I have no idea which of these the kits are refering to?
Here's an example:

Would really appreciate any help, am at my wits end!
I would say the smaller size.
Has your bike overheated recently?
I would hazard a guess and say a blown head gasket, if it's been running overly hot, your head may be warped too.
If you remove the head, any damage to the gasket will likely be obvious without a compression test.
hi humbucker88.....i bought one for my 600 last year....i`ll dig it out tonight and let you know the size....think it was a GUNSONS product
One, is never going to be enough.....
That'd be great cheers!
Yeah I replaced the head gasket and it wasn't damaged, I think the person before me replaced it too in hopes of fixing the problem, hence why it wasn't damaged. So i'll be replacing the head at the weekend and crossing my fingers!
I think I brought a M10 adaptor for my Gunson tester a few year ago for my bike.
This one on ebay has all sizes included. LINKY

Ye i'll go for the 10mm adaptor, although I'm a bit suspicious of such a cheap price, it seems almost....too cheap? lol
yep........10mm is the one that you want,i already had a compression tester so i just bought an adaptor from GUNSONS less than £10 if i remember
One, is never going to be enough.....
I bought the kit Humbucker posted a while back, not realising that my bike has smaller spark plugs. Is the adapter that will fit this kit the 10mm red98 is talking about. I couldnt find it when i googled gunsons.

well the picture posting did`nt work :o ........i can tell you it was a LASER product and not GUNSONS as i had first thought, its two adaptors in one , converting a standard compression tester to either 10mm or 12 mm...hope this helps

This is the type of adaptor I brought for my compression tester

Haven't used this exact product, but most of the Laser stuff I have used has been ok - its not top notch stuff, obviously, but its not a pile of crap either

What exactly do you mean by burning coolant?
If we knew what you meant then we can point you in the right direction before you talk about replacing heads and head gaskets.
It it using coolant or overheating or what exactly
