I've never worked on my birthday until now, which the controller at work thinks is strange, I can't be the only one that takes a day off on their birthday surely?
Anyway I got a call yesterday with an option of a Manchester job, being self employed and payed per job it was something I couldn't refuse (about £180 and I live in Berkhamsted which is 30 miles north of London already!)
Besides all my relatives live in Birmingham so I'll probably pop in there on the way back.
So, working on my birthday or being payed to see the family? I think I'll Pitt the nicer twist on it, shame its raining though!
Some say...
happy birthday punkstig

.......never take my birthday off,its just another day when you get to my age :o
One, is never going to be enough.....
Happy Birthday.. I often end up working on my birthday, just anther day in paradise.
My birthday falls on the same day as my boss and his good ladies wedding anniversary, so we always have a shoot on that day then a party/ piss up for the guns and beaters.
Have a great day
Better to stand and look a fool than speak and prove it !
If it aint broke, I'll fix it till it is !!
How odd my birthday also falls on the same day each year. Lol

I was working on a tunnel boring machine (Channel Tunnel Project) wiring up a PLC control panel in the head on nightshift.
It got just past midnight and I looked at my watch, told myself happy birthday and cracked on!
I try to have my birthday off, but was actually in hospital this year.
My parents bought me in a birthday cake and my cards, which was nice.
Having said that I was also in hospital all over Christmas as well, though they did let me out for Christmas Day itself but I had to be back in for 10am Boxing Day.
allways worked birthdays. :'(
sent from my carafan in tenby,
In a similar vein, before I retired from full time wok I'd struggle in if I was sick then take the day off when I was well enough to enjoy it :lol
Cheers
John
The devil made me do it!
On bithdays we bring food, wine, beer to work and celebrate with coleagues.
Then go home and repeat it with friends and family.
Most things done in a hurry need to be done again - patiently.
