Anyone tried the Yamaha touring screen yet?.....how does it compare to the stock one?

I ordered one when I bought the bike back in 2010 and it turned up a few weeks after the bike. I cant remember what the original screen was like to ride with, but with the touring screen theres no flies hitting my jacket and there is no buffeting on the upper body. I'm very satisfied with it.

Touring screen? which is that. I received a flip-up from Skidmarx yesterday and look forward to see what improvement/difference it makes.

The Yamaha screen is longer with a flip up. There werent any after market screens available at the time I bought mine. How much was the Skidmarx?

My skidmarx is a Flip-up, comes in a choice  of shades, £43. Put it on this afternoon and went for a ride,  no more wind in the chest. But as expected it is now a bit more on the head, but if you like to crouch on the motorways etc, it is much better then the standard. Takes about 8-10 days to deliver, as they only make them to order and on a production run.

I went for a spin on the new Tiger Sport 1050 this morning. It was soon obvious that there was more wind hitting my chest as the fairing is narrower and the screen lower. In comparison, back on the Fazer, my jacket is being sucked off my chest as its sitting away from the windblast.
There is more wind noise on the Fazer, but as I normally wear ear plugs thats not an issue.

I got the yam touring screen on my fz1, and it just wasn't right for me. It was rather noisy in a loud deep bass sound. I trimmed an inch and a half off it, and that helped. I've replaced it with a cheap Chinese d/b which is quite short, and for me its considerably better. I can actually hear now when I get off the bike!

Stop polishing it and ride the bloody thing!!

I can only say that if you lift the wind higher  then it hits your head, never found that a improvement, just noisey, i am sure clear air is much quieter.I do ride qite fast and the wind blast is fine, not like some describe it.
