Other bikes.......
#21
Here's my Biking history. Some I love and miss dearly, and some I wish I'd never spent my hard earned cash on!
My first bike, and she was a love!
Traded her in for this, my Italian affair. A love/hate relationship.
After putting many, many miles on her, I wanted a Fazer thou, but then they were mega bucks! I managed to do a deal on an R1 which was a bit tatty, but it was a love that lasted 7 years! Here she is just after I took off all the shoddy plastic.
I then realised I needed a 'work bike' as I was working on Blackpool prom. (sea salt on that alloy!!!!)
This little GS I rebuilt was a right laugh!
The GS moved on and I bought this. Couldn't get on with it.  :o
[Image: 2700_68961012631_2141203_n.jpg]
I found some guy who wanted a v-twin, as he had a bike that he didn't like, and it was a bike I wanted again.
By the time the 7 year R1 affair was up, she looked like this. Oh how I miss her so.  :'(
Broke my heart when I sold her. :o
[Image: IMAG0352.jpg]
The red Fazer, and the R1 were sold because of a lot of this  :uhuh and me feeling that I needed to grow up as I hit 40  :groan . I bought this.
A superb bike, awesome engine! It just wasn't for me, and I only kept it for 4 months. I was after a Fazer thou Gen 1 to replace it, until an offer I really couldn't refuse came along, which was this.......
I absolutely love it! Let the modding begin!!!
I also have this as my work 'donkey'. It's my sons Fazer, but I'm using it whilst he's away in the Army.
Well that's my biking history, and may there be many more to come. Like this one..... (in your dreams!)

Nice story Stevierst. Its nice to have a pictoral history to go with your memories. Some very clean looking bikes there. The red Fazer 600 looks immaculate and that R1, Lush. I bet you still miss it  Sad
Yamaha Fazer 'the only bike you'll ever need' maybe ???

Thanks Lez. That R1 was an absolute animal, but I miss it dearly!!! It lifted the front in the first 3 gears, and scared the living bejesus out of me in the wet (It was my 365 commuter for 4 years). The guy that bought it off me phoned up a week later and told me that it scared him to death  :lol  He sold it a few weeks later  :rolleyes

i had an original 1980 250lc, which i converted to a 350 by putting twin discs on it and 350 carbs and barrels. Absolutely loved it. Smile

Here are thre of mine.

The Pan is just magic once you get used to the weight - ask the 2011 R1 rider I stuffed at Aberystwyth last year... Also great for my instructing.

The Tuono was just a magic bike ride but made way the K5 which was just astonishing once the suspension was sorted.

And now I have ZZR1400 but no pic (but I will get one!)
