#1
I bought some stuff on ebay which I'm gonna give a go, do you have any to share ?

GPS caddy (to hopefully fit an S3) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230854332768?s...1439.l2649

Thermometer http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281054497104?s...1439.l2649

Clock/Thermometer/Voltmeter http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/330859106723?s...1439.l2649

My Fazer doesn't have a clock before you ask and I wanted one that illuminated at night when the ignition is on.

Opinions, ideas, suggestions, your recent buys ?

Simon

Opinions are like A**holes, Everyone has one.  Some people seem to have more than one though which is a bit odd.

I have the fish tank thermometer and its fine. Doesn't light up if you need that facility. The multi gauge thing looks interesting.

LED indicator strips off Flebay, cheap but very effective.

I've a couple of recent purchases I'd recommend avoiding. Both from the same supplier who doesn't seem interested in writing an accurate description of the goods.

First up is a pair of "air horns".

Obviously that is nonsense, a second's glance at the picture and you can see they're the ordinary solenoid type… but only make slightly more noise than the rusty old original I was replacing because it was about as loud as a wasp farting in a jam jar.

Secondly some "Spot Lamps" also described as "Fog Lights" or "Front Driving Lights".
Clearly they are none of these things, they'e just low power LEDs intended to be seen rather than to see with. What annoyed me about these is that the description states that they are waterproof, what you can't tell  from the picture is they definitely are not… the lens is not sealed against the body of the unit and there's a hole at the back where the wires enter that will let water in.

The idea was buy it now and things you'd already bought. No suggestion of auctions ;-)

I've bought over 200 items on e bay over the years, not had much trouble, apart from being caught by  customs charges, when I imported stuff from the US
best bike related items are the two heated jackets at £40 and £36 for the second one
One thing to be aware of when selling valuable electrical items is , to check the serial number of the item even take a video clip of it working, As ther are people out there who would repair theirs with yours, and then ask for a refund
