Cigarette Sockets?
#1
Where abouts have you all mounted any cigarette sockets you've got on your Fazers? On my old bike I had it mounted properly into the undertray under the seat so I could charge my phone without it being on show, but there's really not a lot of space under the seat for a proper mounting! Could mount it into the side panel infill things, but then I'd have to take the cable back right under the seat to charge it.

Current plan is to just leave the socket cable tied under the seat, but if anyone has any more permanent/rigid solutions, let me know?  Smile

I have just fitted one under the seat because I was concerned that rain water would get into the socket and short out the electrics when in use.

Is this an issue for those that have them mounted on the fairing and handle bars?

Mine came with the bike, and is absolute crap. It's mounted to the bars, yet I've had no problem with shorting. It does have a cap to go over the socket when not in use though.

Best solution? Fit where you want, and add a 10A fuse (or less). NO 12V appliance will draw that much, so if the worst occurs, you lose a 20p fuse, not a £200 alternator!

Don't suppose you could grab a photo fella? Idealy I'd like an under the seat unit to get it out of the way, but there really doesn't appear to be a lot of space under my seat!
