LED Indicators - How bright? (anyone have LED indicators fitted)
#1
Hi all, recent ride out with a mate he told me my indicators were not very easy to see from a distance. my bike came fitted with the small arrow style ones with normal bulbs in. Passed its MOT so I assumed they were ok!?
Got me thinking about LED Indicators but read some were not very bright and could even be less bright than what I have.

I have noticed Yam do a set of after market ones. They are fairly pricey so wondered what peoples experiences of cheaper alternatives were like.
Found this vid of them on an FZ8 http://youtu.be/Hs253RAl9UU

Thanks,
Lord,
Grant me the WD-40 to move those things that are stuck, the Duck tape to fasten those things that are loose, And the wisdom to know the difference.

Yep, I've fitted led indys for the past year or so, and in sunlight they're not as visible as normal bulbs.
I've started using led strips now instead of the cheap mini indys, miles better!
Stop polishing it and ride the bloody thing!!

Cheers for the replies guys. Previous owner fitted a tail tidy with mini indicators so I wanted to match the fronts to the rears.
Rizoma indicators look interesting, Odd styling on them. Also seem fairly expensive so at that price I think I would rather get the yam ones.
Oh the options...

I changed the indicators on mine, they look really good and flash at the correct rate with the supplied flasher unit, easy peasy to fit and seem to be brighter, I got them from Fleabay as well  ....http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4x-15-LED-Mini...3a79975136  you can see them fittted on my vid at Yamaha Fazer 600 - livin' the dream  hope this helps ...regards

Cheers chaps. Still undecided lol. I am trying to tell myself the £93 is excessive for a set of the Yamaha ones but they do look nice...

I have LED indi's on my 125, which I plan to change back to the standard outfit next week. I bought cheap Chinese. Buy cheap, buy twice!!! However, I bought these -

For the Fazer. I have fitted them and they are VERY bright (also save power drain on battery, which was the main drive). I have to transfer the resistor's from the CBF to regulate the shutter speed, but that's easy.
Not quite sure what to do with my early mid-life crisis. Ideas on a post card to P.O.BOX 150...

Cheers DJ but it currently has mini arrow style indicators that do not fit original bulbs. would need the whole thing to LED it.
