Bit Of Advice About Selling My Fazer
#1
Well its like this 0 got a 2003 Fazer FZS 600 one of the very last to be registered before they rolled over to the new injected model (not so good IMHO).

Its done about 6k miles (all dry except one FOCCER weekend) and is mint in fact the wife said I spend more time polishing it than riding it.

Had a serious back issue a few years ago and really nearly lost mobility and other lower functions - I'm OK now but frightened me having had a taste of nearly ending up paraplegic - it just happened due to back wear and tear.

I've lost confidence on the bike and really only done trips for MoT and the odd bimble in the last few years hoping to get my confidence back but its not happened. i just think even a small offf ...well you get the picture.

So sadly thinking of selling.

I can honestly say this bike is a stunning example, not a mark on it, bog standard except for a gear indicator specifically designed for Fazer.

I would like it go where it gets TCL and pleasure riding  it would be shame for it to be a work horse if you see what I mean.

QUESTION: Do I try and sell it now out of "season" and not the best time, or, wait till next year - into buying season but another year older.

Thoughts....

Sorry to hear that you're thinking of selling your bike Chris  Sad

Obviously I know about some of your back problems and I do sympathise, I have back trouble but nothing compared to yours.
I would definitely wait a few months before  putting your bike up for sale, you're more likely to get a reasonable price for it then, this time of year not many people want to buy a bike, and those that do want a bargain.
If anyone on here is interested in your bike I can definitely vouch for its mileage and condition, I've probably been with you for at least half of the miles you've covered on it. It's a lovely example of the best version of the carb'd Fazer 600's, and with a good level of care will last someone for many years / miles.

Wish i had your bike, mine in good nick but not been anywhere near as well looked after as yours by the sounds of things and i sometimes look at it & wish previous owners had taken a little bit more care,i get what your saying about not wanting it to be abused after looking after it so long.

Sorry to hear about the back, i had a disc removed and i try to do as much as possible now before its too late because i believe that no matter how much you try to protect yourself its usually something small and stupid and normal that can cause problems.i dont know anything anout your back though and it sounds pretty bad but i would hope that you decide to keep on riding.im sure you know all the do's and donts but IMHO sitting watching tv for a couple of hours is far more dangerous to backs than going out for an hour on the bike.good luck to you whatever you decide.
Easiest way to go fast........don't buy a blue bike

i'd say stick it up now at the price you want and sure if it doesn't sell until the weather picks up sure what have you lost?

You are likely to get a better price in the spring but there is no harm in trying.  Last month I sold my '98 VFR800 and got good money for it.
As for the life it has in the next owner's hands, unfortunately once you give up ownership to someone else you also give up any influence over the way the bike is treated and consign it to its fate.

If you're not up to riding it would be best to sell it, you could try now if it's at the right price it will go, don't forget the "book" value goes down every month, as for using them in the winter I've been out on mine today as the weather was ok went through puddles and mud as I like using the back lanes but the bike is over 6 years old and in good condition, a few hours cleaning and it would be ready to sell, done over 27k, if you work out cost per mile you're better using them all the year round, I had a trike I just used to go to rallies on, I worked out it cost £100 to go to each one?
