Read your bike manual, I think it says SE or SF for the FZS600, and buy oil that meets that spec. There are not different SF specs for motorbikes and cars, its one spec - so if it says SF spec on the bottle, its good for your bike :thumbup

Beleiving that motorcycle oils are inherently different, just means you  are a marketing mans dream, because he can charge you nearly double and laugh all the way to the bank.

rich, the thing to check is if the oil has friction inhibitors. Great for cars but makes your bike clutch slip like a bugger.

Keep an eye on Hein Gericke, I was getting 4L for £10 a while back but that was probably a one off.

My car is due a service and I got 3 4 litre bottles of 5W30 (which is really good) for a tenner each

(My car needs 4.5 Litres annoyingly so 2 bottles would be pointless lol) still at least have got 2 services worth of oil for £30 which is fantastic I thought

The Wife's car was just due a service when the oil light came on...

I thought "shit!" (I suppose it's my fault as well, inevitably)

Anyway, quickly thinking I got the old oil from the waste container where I'd stuck it from my last bike service and hey presto!

Topped up no problem!

(good job I change the oil every 4K, eh!  Big Grin )
