Crash bungs?
#1
Hey guys, I bought my '03 Fazer and it came with what look to be mountings for some sort of crash bungs. (See round chunk of metal at the bottom right, near the downpipes) I believe that the previous owner took this down the road and then took the bungs off because they looked scruffy. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get some more? Just the bungs, not a whole set.

My advice, if you believe its gone down the road, is check for damage, including near the bung mounts; crash bungs don't save the day in every spill, indeed if its been banged hard or at high-ish speeds they can cause frame damage enough to write the bugger off.

Is there any other marks / scrapes that might indicate an off?

With all due respect, if you found this website, then can you not Google like everyone else is gonna do for you?  :rolleyes

I guess Oll is asking if anyone recognises the mounts, can't see how he could google that!

Well they do not look like R&G's so that is one type eliminated.

Fair enough, although i did have a quick surf and funnily enough the closest i could see to the one in the photo was R&G's, 3rd photo down!

I never found replacement bobbins anywhere though?

I'd imagine they think along the lines of if they just saved your bike then you'd be happy to fork out the full price for another complete kit!

Yes, I did want to know if anyone recognised the mountings, and thanks, I think it's the R&G ones, so I'll give them a ring and see if I can order just the bungs.
Obviously I checked for other damage when I bought the bike; it does have scratches as if it's gone down on both sides before, both at low speeds, though this is also probably why the original exhaust was replaced with a Scorpion. The main damage is a crack in the fairing, which has been repaired and covered up. (That's what the black carbon tape is at the front) Quite well done aswell.
