IVANS FUEL CUT ELIMINATOR DIFFERENT WIRE COLOURS PLEASE HELP!!

I'm in the process of fitting my Ivans Fuel Cut Eliminator, and the 3 wires coming from it for the sensor are red, black and blue. The wires on my bike are Pink with white stripe, Black with blue stripe and  Blue. I'm assuming Blue to Blue, Pink with white stripe to Red, and Black with blue stripe to Black. Has any one wired theirs in that way?  I have read the article on FCE Installation in the forum, but didn't see any mention of different coloured wires. Its a 2010 model FZ1N on a '12 plate.  :rolleyes

I don't know the wiring, sorry, but I do know that if you guess wrongly it won't end well.

I suggest you contact Stephen and SG Motorsports and ask him to contact Ivan on your behalf, if necessary, to confirm the correct order of colours.

Alternatively, you could call Ivan direct in the USA.  He takes calls like this willingly and will sort out the confusion for you in minutes.

Thanks for the advice, I did call Ivan and he was very helpful. Wiring is how I thought, Red to Pink with white tracer, Blue to Blue and Black to Black with blue tracer. Can't say its made a massive difference though, but there is a slight improvement. May need re mapping next. Oh well, more overtime !!!

Interesting, you don't feel much difference. I wonder if anyone else with an 07 on has fitted it and felt the same?

i thought that a FCE was only req'd on 2006 bikes to stop kanga-fuelling issues!
a PC3 on later bikes.

Later Gen IIs still have exactly the same fuel cut-off parameters in the ECU as the original 06 model but the effects are masked much better by having slower opening rates on the secondary throttle butterflies.  That could account for why you don't notice a great deal of difference in throttle response. 

What other mods (airbox/filter, exhaust etc) have you done?

Dont you have to zip tie the secondary butterflies open iirc ?

You don't have to do anything with the secondary 'flies but removing or fixing them in the open position makes for more immediate throttle response. 

This can have drawbacks, though (eg, too much throttle at lower rpm/higher gearing can make the motor bog down) and usually works best with the addition of a PCIII/V unit and revised fuel mapping.

However, if you remove/disable the secondaries on a post-06 Gen II, the fuel cutoff-induced 'snatch' becomes an issue again, thus requiring the FCE to cure it.

So, a proper case of cause and effect.

The only other mods I've done are a K&N air filter and a Mivv Titanium end can plus the FCE. would you recommend a re map too?

After reading the reviews, I was expecting a more noticeable difference than I got.

It depends what you are hoping to achieve.

The K&N filter won't make a great deal of difference unless you also open up the airbox.  The MIVV can probably adds a couple of bhp at peak rpm but otherwise just saves weight and sounds nice. 

The FCE fattens up the fuelling in the mid-rpm range and adds some extra horses there but it's mostly to eradicate the fuel cut-off issue, not really an out-and-out performance booster.

You should think of tuning as an end-to-end process, improving gas flow into and out of the motor and altering fuelling to provide the optimum amount of fuel to go with the increased mass of air/exhaust gas that can be moved.

The US FZ1OA Gen II section has masses of info on tuning options and if your pockets are deep enough to match your ambition, you can really punch up the power over the stock motor.
