Thanks for the replys! So my next question is could I use a modded (green wire) headlight loom from  a boxeye on a foxeye headlight woth success?

It's a while since I did this but here goes. As long as the green wire is from the blue connector block under the tank (as described for headlight mod elsewere on this site) then the short answer is yes. That would be linked across to control the dip beams on both bulbs. The headlight black/yellow wire would  also need to be linked to both bulbs for main beam. That assumming you want the foxeye lights to work as intended.
WARNING. With the headlight mod for the boxeye an extra relay is not needed, imho. However in this case you are switching two filaments at a time and I would recommend useing two relays, one for the main beam circuit and one for the dip beam circuit. (If you look at the wiring diagram for the foxeye you will see extra relays are used. That model is wired in a different way, but the principle is the same)
The relays I used were type 40A SPNO Auto 12Vdc, which are commonly used on cars and available from car accessary shops. (Also from Maplin, code NO2AW).
It's past my bed time so I hope all that makes sence  :z . Just ask if you need further advice on wiring the relays. Computer skills permitting, I "might" be able to put a wiring diagram up.
