Hi Foccers,
The front right foot peg on my 98 Boxeye is loose, i.e. it rotates rather than wobbles up and down.
I’m sure I read somewhere that this is quite common. Is it ? Is it an easy fix if not ... or a likely MOT failure ?
Thanks in advance,
Matt
Should be an easy fix. The footrest is held in the aluminium bracket by a socket head bolt from the back. You will need a suitable size allen key and just tighten it up. I thought there were a couple of flats to stop it rotating, on the bit that the brake pedal pivots on, but maybe not. Either way just tighten it up with the footrest in the correct orientation. Not good for the MOT if loose and worse if the bolt drops out completely and the footrest disappears.

I once had a Honda and the handbook said that the front tyre pressure was 32 psi, well mine only had 19 psi so I sold the bike, did i act in a hasty manner :rollin :rollin :rollin
Thanks Limax ... thought I’d found somewhere before that said ‘they all do that’ ... anyway, much appreciated !

Thanks Tommy ... will have to consult Mr Haynes’ manual more closely ? ??
My left peg came loose and I seem to remember it being pretty easy to tighten. There's just a screw on the back

Your welcome Mjhb, if I can help as I walk life's beaten path. Lol!
Some members in here used to take the piss but thankfully that's been banned. :rollin :rolleyes
There are still a couple of foccers in here to watch out for, but firstly it would be bad etiquette to name them and secondly fazersharp and hedgetrimmer would be cross with me if I named them.

Good call - don't mention that Polish bugger Tomski either....
Those are my principles...if you don't like them I have others.
