Created a custom anti-slip cover for my FZ1 pillion seat
#1
So like a lot of people the pillion seat on FZ1 is getting scuffed up when I get on/off the bike and when my backpack/s slide across etc. After trying failing to find 'anyone' who who did a full cover for the pillion seat, I thought how hard can it be to try and make my own.

So with a 50x150m sheet from The Grange and 2m of elasticated cord from a locale sew-n-stitch shop I made my own, and for a first try I think I did pretty well. The spacing on the 'stitching' of the cord is about 25mm, and then once the cover was on the seat, I did a shoe-lace pattern on the circumference to minimise bunching on the concave/convex curves and corners of the seat, I used a criss-cross shoe-lace pattern etc.

Fitting the seat back n the bike is a snug fit, but I am expecting it will bed in over time. And the beauty of using anti-slip mesh, I can carry a all smaller items on the back with just bungees should the need arise knowing they wont move around on the back etc.

So the quality of the mesh cover was meh, first time a heavy backpack rubbed on it, scrapped of somf othe mesh material. So will need to replace the mesh with better qaulity, stronger version.
