Tall rider… 2000 FZS600
#1
Hi,
Firstly apologises if this is the wrong place to post this or if this has been asked before and I’ve missed it. I did have a good look in the FAQ section.
I am going to view a 2000 FZS600 in the next week or so. I am 6’5” tall and just want to ask on here if anyone has any advice or experiences of a rider of my height on this bike. It’s a far drive away and don’t want to waste my time if I am just simply too tall for it.
Any thoughts would be appreciated - including if anyone has any ideas on modifications such as raising the handle bars or lowering footpegs to make it more comfortable for the taller, more normal size people.
Cheers.

Hi, Welcome to the forum. I'm 5' 10'' and with shortish legs and I can get both feet flat on the floor. It's a fairly roomy riding position for me but I think you may feel a bit cramped on it especially if you ever plan to carry a pillion. At your height I would be looking at a 650 Versys, which I would love but it's a bit tall for me, or a V-strom. Obviously if somebody as tall as you comes on and says differently, then disregard all the above. Cheers, Vince.

Hiya fella, I'm 6'4" and found the 600 nice, compact and easy to flick about and filter. If you can crouch down like you see the Asians do on telly (no racism implied) and not a physically restricted person then give it a go - if you fit then you fit - simple.

Those are my principles...if you don't like them I have others.

There is a FZS 1000 waiting for you somewhere. Smile

Bit more thirsty though: 45mpg(imp) versus 55mpg(imp) and a tad heavier: 230Kg versus 205Kg, but with as much of a cult following as the FZS 600 boxeye.

(the SV1000 is good fun by all accounts, and would suit a normal length fella, but shouldn't mention that on this board)

Hi, TooTall. I am 6 foot 2 inches tall, 34 inch inside leg, and have no problems regarding comfort with the 600. I do not carry a pillion.though.

I’m 6’1” with a 35” leg (yeah I kind of look like that green one-eyed fucker in Monsters inc.) and find my 600 a bit cramped on the knees over long distances.
Broken, bruised, forgotten, sore,
too fucked up to care any more.

Im 190cm, dont find any issues with my legs. If you anyways following the 1 hour riding and 5 min brake rule its gonna be fine.

For longer trips I would go for another windshield. Drove a cross Europe in july, with an Airhawk pillow wich build about 2cm. Was driving between 5-6 hours a day, fzs worked perfectly.
