Picked up a 1998 fazer (30'000 on the clock) serviced a week before I got it, new cam chain tensioner/oil etc etc. It runs very well, although I need to get it rejetted and dynoed with the can I have on it now as its a little burbly
The question I have is regarding 2nd gear, between 1-4000rpm there is a whining noise only in this particular gear. As far as feel and delivery goes there is no issue with gear selection or hesitation on the throttle, so I'm wondering why it would be noisey just in that gear at those RPMs?! Quite strange. I managed to drop it off its side stand on uneven ground last week, half caught it on the way down but it still hit the deck with a bit of a thud... I'm wondering if this might have shifted something in the engine? Gearbox? Any ideas ?
