speedometer does not work...

Hi,
I checked all wirings and sensor on the wheel everything looks ok, any ideas, anyone?  Wink

I've had:


1) Sensor lugs break inside the hub, it was down to me not aligning them correctly.


2) Disc rivets wear through wire if not clipped back properly.


3) I reckon if you get moisture in the big black connector box container under the tank you could get corrosion of the speedo connection point.


Other than that I don't know.

More often than not, it'll be the speedo sensor in the front that will have cracked. Even if it's a terribly small break it'll still hinder the speedo working properly. It's also a common problem with Fazers. It mostly occurs when the front wheel's been taken off and just not aligned fully when put back on.
The part to replace is generally about £15-20 so not too big a worry.
It's the bit with the lugs in the photo.

.......... and as you'll see the replacement has plastic lugs rather than ceramic. So less likely to break again. Whack loads of grease on it when you put the new one in.
