Shoulder mount like predator ?
True. But it can also show you are performing all the necessary life saver should checks (or not), if it's angled right, it can also shove you dash, proving your safe speed (or not), use of indicators (or not) and possibly a little reflection of what occurring behind you. On the helmet, it will follow your gaze, so more likely to show that idiot that's trying to side swipe you. And will (assuming you don't get mashed too badly) keep on recording after the incident, showing you struggling to get up, checking out the carnage that's strewn across the road, position of bike, car and other fuckwit and hopefully catch their response be it a 'sorry mate, my fault' or a torrent of abuse and threatening behaviour. Conversely, a helmet cam is very obvious, especially to a copper who happens to be first on scene to pick up the pieces...
A discreet cam on the bike on the other hand, tends to records a very static POV. You get no indication of what occurring beside you, no indication as to what you're doing as a rider. Most will cut out what's power is cut and it's unlikely they'll be close enough to record any audio of the exchange you have with other parties. It will however be less obvious to a copper though.
Swings and round abouts.
