Test ride- what to look for?
#1
Hi everyone. Potential fazer thou owner here in sunny lancashire. Taking a silver 2003 model out for a test ride on wednesday and wondering if there is anything particular to look out for? It's time to get rid of my cbr 600 'cause I'm sick of dancing on the gear lever to get anywhere. I fancy another big bike for the grunt. Will let you know if a deal is done.
Thanks, Graham.

Cheers, live in Preston. Had a look at it on saturday but working till wednesday so will take cbr down, have a test ride and talk figures then. Just hope the weather holds. Not ridden the cbr much in the last couple of years so thought a change of bike might spur on a bit of enthusiasm.

Good old Preston, my workplace!
Biggest problem with the thou would be the exup valve. If it's serviced and free then it'll be fine.
Switch the ignition on, and you'll hear a motor whirr for 1/2 second, and the fuel pump prime. Leave the ignition on, and watch the rev counter for about 20 seconds. If it shows a 7 thousand rpm fault code, there's a problem with the exup. If not, then it's minty!
Anything else is just your normal bike stuff, crash damage etc..... Good luck with it Tongue
