There's a website called 'FOC-U' that's quite good for Fazers apparently.

I won't go near Facebook, it's the work of the devil.  :evil

What's wrong with Foc-u2? And why no reference to this forum? Must try harder...  :\

Still liked though.

Not sure what to think really.....more fazer stuff is never a bad thing....but i like to keep my facebook separate to my fazer stuff.......actually no im lying coz i've posted fazer pics on my facebook....but hardly anyones interested coz they're all plebs & too interested in their own completely different hobby & your hobbys disgust them....plus they think you're being a show off.

Cutting to the chase...theres too much social disaster on facebook & if we were all on the facebook group then before long we'd know absolutely everything about each other instead of like with foc-u where you can be selective about how much info you give about yourself & to whom you give it.

Speak for yourself, but I now spend more time on FOC-U than Facebook! I mainly use it as a messaging service theses days.

Anyone wanting to add me as a friend on FB is welcome to do so, there's nothing I put online that I need to hide, or don't wish to make public.

I don't know if there's a FOC-U facebook group but I'd advise against it. I was a member of a few VW forums and when they set up FB pages the forums just went tits up.  :\

I think this is what self destruct explains....everything becomes fragmented with some info on facebook and some on here...some people on here and some on facebook..plus facebook owns your ass...so if it suddenly decides to start charging then we're focced.

I cant deny that the ergonomics of facebook are good, it is much easier and quicker & the group messages are good but then thats what millions of pounds of revenue gets you whereas poor foc-u is free & not funded.

They are two entirely different "products" each with its own merits. However, forum based software is significantly better for archiving data - have you ever tried to search for something you saw on Facebook once upon a time?

The privacy settings are more advanced allowing you to share data with only certain groups, however their privacy policy is somewhat more open to using your data elsewhere

What usually happens is you see the same stuff being posted on both sites, and if you're already logged into one you're less inclined to log into the other only to see the same things. Eventually people just use the Facebook group and forum traffic slows to a minimum, to the point where it's not worth the site owner to keep paying for it.  :\

I'm not sure that will happen with Foc-u - the demographics are different here

The forum is like a pub where everyone visits to have a chat, talk about bikes, technical stuff and to generally get pissed and have a laugh...

In contrast, Facebook is like a notice board... you read the highlights, maybe you leave a comment, but there's much less actual social interaction (oddly enough)
