The plastic ratchet strips for ankle and calf adjustment look flimsy and, when the boot's off your foot, are too easy to knock out of position.

Try adding small black elastic bands over the ratchet strap nearest to the leather - worked for me for 4 yrs. Just done the same on my new pair
