I don't know about the FZ 8 but it would also be worth considering the Yamaha MT 09. There is a thread about that bike on the "General" page of this Forum.

I've got the Fazer 8 and love it, but it's horses for courses, you just gotta take a test ride and see if you get the grin factor. Smile

MT09 is narrower and shorter than FZ8.
IMO the 8 is still a better ride.
My next upgrade will br to the FZ1

I'm really happy with the fazer 8. The tank range is a big thing for me when I look at buying a bike. The fazer8 will easily do 160-170 miles. The MT 09 has a 14.5 litre tank so not sure what its range will be but it appears to be a really fun bike with plenty of power and grunt. The MT will be a great bike so try them both and see what you think. All the best with your choice.

Yep, 160 - 170 miles does seem a lot. I try to fill up at around the 130 to 140 mark  so I guess it could do more. Just not had the nerve to try it even tho there is a reserve. Range is ok IMHO.  Smile

Once you get on the motorway and the revs exceed 7k the consumption shoots right up.

Back from a trip to the Alps and I must say I was disappointed with the thirst of my Fazer 8 when compared to my old FZ6.  However I believe that the Fazer 8 does suffer from a smaller tank which is a shame.  Was travelling with a mate on his Fireblade and his tank was outlasting mine!

However, I have to say the Fazer 8 does tick all other boxes!

I bought a fazer8 3 months ago. I love the bike, still have a honda cbf1000 but I take the fazer out first. I've had 3 other fazer 600's over the years and have always loved the fazer range so getting the 800 was great for me. It's a lovely bike, nice sound and looks just great. Not sure what I'd change it for if I had to. Just depends what you've had before and what you're looking for now but either way I'm sure you'd love it.  Smile

I've had my Fazer 8 for a year now after changing from a Gen1 Fazer 1000 and a 5PW R1, took a bit of getting used too, but a little bike with a big bike heart, huge fun, covered nearly 10,000 miles in all weathers, couple of track days, excellent all rounder 8)
