Who has an Ivans kit fitted and be willing to let me try it ?

No arse ragging involved  Smile

I wanted to see how it rolls on and off the throttle and picks up in the higher gears without having to change down one or two.

Believe all the hype, it is worth every penny, and if you get Mike to do it, all will be supplied and fitted by the most experienced guy in the UK (well twice a year!).

One of the top 3 mods you can do to a fazer. For the first few months you'll be looking for 7th gear as the bike responds so much better in top.

Mine is Ivanised and although it did improve the general feel of the bike I found the 4 degree ignition advancer completed it for better midrange grunt. you sacrifice a little on the top end but I very rarely rev mine to the redline
It also starts much better than before and is said to improve fuel consumption a little. I Have noticed a very slight improvement in fuel consumption but it is minimal the way I ride.

for £14 and the price of the gasket its a cheap and easy thing to do. and worst case if you don't like it convert back to the standard one and sell the 4 degree one on here.

Remember!
This is an R1 motor. Ignition advancers are not recommended unless you have significantly raised the compression!
From the Ivans kit instructions, any ideas why?

I had read the same thing before. But then it was pointed out to me most Americans tend to run cars/bikes etc. on lower grade fuel (85 Ron) Ours is 95 Ron as standard. I run mine on Shell V-power (claimed to be 99 Ron) so this allows for a more reliable detonation and less pinking. As such over here we can run an ignition advancer with little issues and in truth I do. mine is a nicer bike to ride under 5000rpm in everyday traffic.
I know there was a time when people were getting the file out and modifying their own lol

Thats temptation enough for me, I can always run on avgas 100ll if needed.  Smile
I'm tempted with the 4 degree thing off ebay for £14 just to keep the original as standard in case, anything that makes for an easier ride works for me.
