"There was no way I was gonna stop"

Didn't he see those 2 massive trucks from 300m?

What a dick.

He's lucky to be OK, very lucky.  The trucks were pulling away before they noticed.

Well we've all has lapses in concentration.  But I couldn't help thinking he didn't seem to be braking much.  Too busy saying shit.  Any time I've had to brake extra hard trying to save my skin, well your bracing your self hard against the braking force, total concentration, and trying not to lock up the front or flip the bike.  It's only once I've stopped I might say something.

Do remember doing a pogo stick impression years ago.  Locked up the front, let go, nose up, back on the brakes hard too hard, back off, on, off, on off.  Got much better at applying brakes quick and steady after that.

Maybe he's had a bit of one of those rabbit in the spot light moments.

Main thing is he's OK.

And what is it with helmet cams?

I mean great a helmet cam would help me if I ever got cut up bad.  But then I could be riding about generating enougth evidence to get locked up for a few years should plod get hold of my cam.

It's like he didn't see the trucks at all. Seemed to me he had loads of time to brake, but instead just lined himself up for a gap that wasn't really there. Inexperienced? Or can you just not tell from videos?

I am glad I chose the FZS all those years ago when I considered a bandit too. Brakes on the FZS would have had no problems stopping the bike from that speed.
Another ex-Fazer rider that is a foccer again

the fzs would be narrower too so wouldn't have needed to brake, lol!

I often knock my mirrors to the folded position to get through narrow gaps (it pisses off smartass cage drivers no end!), but to not slow down to check your gap first is plain daft.

There's a known phenomenon where drivers / riders on motorways etc don't realise vehicles are stationary and just plough into them. I get the feeling this might have happened as it looked at first glance to be one lorry overtaking another at 50-60mph. If you watch the video back I think you may see what I mean.

Having foolishly filtered between lorries in the past, the gap here was just too small. I would also say that to approach at that speed is suicidal, you should at least measure up before heading down the middle (I advise no-one to try this).

Agree with the comments about him saying 'shit' too much rather than getting on the brakes. If he'd really wanted to stop he could have folded the front and let the road brake for him.
