Just received my new fairing
#1
I have just got my brand new fairing from Yamaha The colour is silver storm, the darker 2004 silver.  The first thing i noticed was that the new fairing is noticeably lighter in colour. My bike was immaculate before the accident and was garaged, so there would be no chance of sun bleaching etc.. Has anyone else bought a new fairing and it doesn't match. I know that when you repaint it can be difficult to match. I thought it may have been the silver tech colour that is lighter. Is there any way of checking the paint code? The dealer ordered 'bluish silver 4, which i think is right.
If it's broken, it's not fixed.

I had the same thing on a rear seat cover on my blue R1, the bike and the cover was new but the cover was the wrong shade, motorcycle city ordered me 3 before the shade was right :eek
Send it back if your not happy.

model label no is 1c25 080 A. I have contacted the bike shop. I am going to take in the old fairing and new one to show the difference in colour. I have also peeled back some of the decals to prove the paint hasn't faded. Somehow i expect to get shafted :\

Be polite and stick to your guns - you shouldn't have a problem.

Nick, was it Ride On you bought it from. They are generally quite good with this sort of thing if you can prove it was their error. Alastair Hutchison is the owner and he will be sympathetic with your replacement
