Fan coming on when it's cold!!
#1
Hi guys I have a question for you  Smile

I started my gen 1 fazer up from cold today just to warm it through after being unused for weeks.

And not long after I started it and still on choke the radiator fan came on until I put it in gear then it went off.

This has happened a few times but only as far as I can remember since I fitted a Kawasaki ZX9 ajustable clutch lever but I can't see how this would affect it? or could it be the side stand cut out switch??

Proper knackered! Not even worth 500notes, I'll give you fifty quid for it!
Or, you could not worry about it as its a standard thing on Fazers :lol

Fan will come on if the bike is at standstill because there's no airflow through the radiator (thus it'll naturally run hotter anyhow). Provided it isn't running hot at speed, it'll be fine.

HTH.

I would say its most definately the new clutch lever you fitted. I put a new pair of tyres on mine recently and it did exactly the same thing so i had to put the old ones back on and the problem disappeared.

£600 tops, and no more offers please chaps  Wink

Sorry fella. Don't worry about it bud. Mine does it on choke too if i even breath on the throttle. Its not an issue  Smile
Yamaha Fazer 'the only bike you'll ever need' maybe ???

As Allen has said its a case of " they all do that sir" its normal.

If you sit on the bike, take it off the side stand and pop it in and out of 1st or second gear and back into neutral and the fan will stop.
