Bike Valuation

After a quick rough valuation for a Fazer 1k, so thought I'd pop it up here and see what you all thought:
05 Model in the red/black colour scheme, got 20k on the clocks.
Good condition, few extras including a scottoiler, tinted screen, scorpin exhaust, rad cover, crash bungs, fender extender and hugger.
Some service history, just had the big one. Chain and sprockets replaced recently, tyres look pretty good too.

So, what should I be looking to pay?

if you stiil want to continue with the red one you should be looking to pay about £2500

difficult based on a few words. everyone has a different idea of 'good condition' and you don't say whether it has tax and mot. on the plus side it's a late plate for a gen 1 (vehicle prices drop once 10 years old) and the consumables have life left but on the down side it's mid winter and prices seem to drop again (for bikes) once they hit 20k miles.


so somewhere between 2100 and 2750, private sale no warranty. more from a dealer.


as a guide the extras are worth nothing attached to the bike unless they are exactly the extras you would fit if they were missing. for this reason try to take away the original fittings available at the time of sale.


a suggestion is to take a look at completed ebay listings, this gives a good idea of what the public are actually willing to part with for vehicles. just bear in mind that auction listings (particularly on-line) tend to fetch less than classified listings.

One thing to remember at this time of year bikes are usually cheaper and tend to go for more at the start of spring so nows the time to buy..
Irrespective go look at the bike and take along someone thats knowlegable about them to keep you right.. good luck with the purchase..
