Windscreen seal solution needed
#1
Hi
When I wash me beloved Mk1 Fazer, a small problem arises.  Soapy water gets under the front screen due to a lack of a simple seal. The Mk2 fazer has factory fitted seal attached to the front faring to seal the screen when in place.

Does anyone know of an off to self screen seal I can buy or do I need to get abit imaginative to solve this issue.

People have suggested a thin draft excluder seal but as my screen is completely clear I want it to look professional and not a bodge job.

Any suggestions welcome

Regards
Craig

what about using a clear silicone sealant - the type you use for bathrooms ,if you use the clear type and wipe off any excess with a wet finger it shouldnt show , mind you i have a 2000 ( w) plate fazer and never had this trouble what year did the mk 1 end and mk 2 start ?

Thanks for your reply.  I have the last of the Mk1's reg 2002.  Check out attached pic. to see screen, see no seal.

Not sure.  Never had one..  The screen in the picture is longer than the standard screen with a flip so it directs the wind off your chest Smile

If you don't fancy siliconing your screen freehand you could cut a mold out of cardboard, line it with clingfilm, put silicone in the groove and flatten it with the clingfilmed surface of a book.

I did something similar when I needed a quick custom seal between a glass jar and glass lid, I only used one bit of clingfilm to stop the lid sticking to the jar during molding meaning the seal is stuck to the lid but it might work for what you need.

I had this problem and I used some single sided foam tape bought off ebay. Works perfectly and it looks neat too.

Hi thanks for looking.  The bike only had 12,500 miles on her when i had her. She's great and has been the best start to my biking.
Thanks for the suggestion, and im on it now.  gonna try it.
