what's the longest you've owned a bike for?

Where was it kept, in the sea???

Nope but the landlocked equivalent,  a garden in the North west of england. :rollin
It was still a runner but starter clutch was shot ( 65000 miles). Fixed the starter but I couldnt handle it looking so grotty so time for a refresh which like most turned into a full on tart up.

CB250RS. First bike I bought after passing my test

Same here , so I bought one of those five years ago as well , and still going strong

1st bike was a blue Fazer 600 (2003 model) which I promptly wrote off after 6 weeks.

Second bike was.........a blue Fazer 2003 model which have had for 2.5 years now.

14 years for my current ride.
I did hold onto my lovely GPZ305 for longer than that, but can't really count it as it was stored in my garage for about 5 years after the engine blew up and it took me that long to admit it was beyond economic repair.  :'(

It just dawned on me that I've had another bike sat in the garage for FOUR years now and have only done about 40 miles on her  :lol :rollin :lol

I bought an old knackered SuperDream as a winter project to keep me from rotting in front of the telly (and as a trip down memory lane). Lack of motivation meant it took rather longer than expected to complete - in fact, it's still not finished because there's some annoying low-rev fuelling issues that continue to plague me. She passed her MOT and I've had her up to 80 on the M61. Absolutely gutless and heavy, but still brought a smile to my face.  Big Grin

19 years.
1976 KH 250 B1 in candy wine red.
Sold it for £850 in restored condition in 2001 to help fund my first big four stroke.

Purchased it in 1983 for £120 with a knackered crank two weeks after i bought my first house, without telling the wife  :lol

I used to change my bike about every two or three years but have had my '05 FZS1000 since September 2006.  I'll have it for a good while longer as well.  I also have a '98 VFR800 that has been in my ownership for 4 years.
