I was going to buy a new silencer for my Gen-1 but thought I'd ask on here before to see if there's anything available. Yes, I know I just missed the Akro's :'(
Quite close to me are Quill, Blueflame, MTC and Pipe Worx, so it's easy enough to buy a new one but they're so bladdy expensive (for the nice ones). If anything, I have a preference for Titanium. I love the look of the standard, original part - it's just the sound and weight that makes me want to change.
No stubbies please - they just cut your midrange torque. Longer the better.
Try giving Quill a ring. They gave me a ti for the price of S/S because an apprentice didn't quite get the colour right (3 inches of blue instead of 50%)
Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

Take a look at this Tom. The graph shows a power increase throughout the rev range, and in the road trials later on in the clip it sounds good too.
I was looking at those last night Pete - I think it was DK in Staffs who were selling them thru eBay. They do sound good! I've just come off the phone to BlueFlame and they said they'll do a 450mm can in Coloured Titanium with twin ports for an indecent price :lol . I fitted a trioval to my TT600 and it looked the dogs and sounded superb. Had an oval on my CBR600 and that sounded great too.
I recognise that Sun inn - I've been there! It's in Yorks' isn't it? Why don't you sell those side fairings you bought then put the money toward a pipe you really want? With a decent end pipe and an Ivan's kit fitted you won't be far wrong.

Yes it's in "Dent", North Yorkshire. Nice little rideout from the caravan that, so I go there regularly. Bloody gorgeous little village - wish I could afford to live there.
I removed the fairing last night and it's hanging in the garage waiting for an auction slot . Will probably go for a new BlueFlame if nothing else turns up today. No doubt a £100 Akropovic Full System will appear 5 minutes after I've bought a BF. :lol

Always thought it odd looking that the standard can sticks out further than the back of the bike.
Just my 2p those fairing stickers don't look right? It's probably the two Yamaha fork motifs being so close together? And the 'blocky lettering on a swoopy fairing doesn't seem to sit right. You've heard of 'go faster stripes', well what you've got there is 'go slower' lettering. :b
The bike looks cleaner without those fairing lowers though, lookin' good. I came across these earlier today which look ok I suppose, but far too expensive for what they are.
I have an Akrapovic Oval Carbon Can (end caps and internals titanium) if you are interested.
It has a link pipe for a BMW K1200S but will fit the Fazer (or most other bikes) with a new link pipe. Quill, Blue Flame, MTC or pipe worx should be able to help with that. The body of the can is about 10 mm longer than the titanium fitted to mine.
Akrapovic do Carbon end caps as spare parts if you want to update the look of the can.
They go for upwards of 200 beer vouchers on eBay, I want it out my garage and don't have enough time left to do an auction. How does 140 sound? you can view and collect as I am not far from you (Nr Liverpool Airport).
