battery time
#1
Not used the bike in a month so flat battery.  I suspect terminal as i limped it through last winter by disconnecting the battery when it wasn't being used (the clock drains the battery).

So how much is a new one for the FZS600 these days?  Any deals available that people can recommend?

If you aren't using the bike and not maintaining the the battery very much it might be worth spending a bit extra and getting an AGM as they hold their charge much better. I went this way after recommendation on the old Fazer site, and got a Westco AGM from:

Thanks for the tip - that certainly sounds like my usage!  Just phoned the Yamaha place in Shepherds Bush and the Yam battery is £109!  :eek

They don't do generic batteries, only official parts...  So I might get the one you recommended (I see if has a higher starting current than the cheaper ones).  Something I couldn't see on the site though is whether it arrives charged or not?

Nah - your battery is ok - mine goes flat every winter, and it will be 9 this year Smile

I just disconnect it as I don't have a power supply in the garage, it usually goes flat in a week if it's really cold, but a good long run usually keeps it happy...

I just bought a Fazer that had been standing for 5 years, and paid £40 for my battery. Not the dearest out there, so will see how long it lasts... :rolleyes
