multi-gauge
#1
has anyone fitted the latest version of the multi-gauge? (the V8 model)

just that ive finally got round to wiring mine up & abit confused. reading the instructions, it says if i want to use the build-on speedo-healer i need to solder the resistor along with the orange wire then make a cut in the circuit..........

do you have to solder these on or not? any help will be great.

many thanks

Do you want to use the speedo healer function or not, Justy?

If you don't, ignore fitting the resistor.

If you do - which assumes you have non-standard gearing - then go ahead and fit the resistor according to the instructions supplied with the gauge.

hi
what does the speedo healer do if you have a standard bike?
Does it make it more accurate then?
I fitted it on mine cause I thought it improved the accuracy.
Cheers.

thanks for that guys.

i emailed the bloke who makes um. ( found his email address ) he said you dont need to connect the orange wire or resistor. you only need to connect them if you change the sprocket ratio.

Speedo healer ( I assume this one is same type of thing ) is mostly used to counter gearing changes or tyre size changes etc but can also be used to adjust for the built-in speedo error.
I use a normal speedo healer as I changed the rear sprocket and I also took out the built in error.
Just changed it back to allow for the gear change but not the speedo error. Did this as was making me mad in roadworks LOL wanting to go faster than the rest of the traffic LOL

Hey Justy..

I have the V8 version and fitted it 3 or 4 weeks ago without the speed healer... i run a 16t/47t setup... i used my phone with a GPS speedo app and it was well out so refitted with the resistor and orange wire and PCB cut then set up the version 8 by one of the very useful pages (Speedo output factor) .. value 1 = standard 16/44, then there are option covering many of the ratios.. 15/45, 15/47, 16/45, 16/46 etc... set mine to 0.95 (i think).. used my Phone app again now my speedo reads 1 mph over the true speed so.. when doing 60 on speedo .. true is 59... and it works right across the range... i also set the speedo in the V8 as well to the same value so when i am on the screen that display speed and max revs it show the true speed as well... awesome bit of kit

As said, if you running standard you do not need to solder in the orange wire or the resistor...

I love V8 it is so configureable... set it up exactly as you want it... Christian is a genius.. !!!

How to use instructions here...
