That's a lot of miles out of a sports tyre.  I can just squeeze 6000 miles out of the harder PR3's.
So yeah if you want more miles from yer tyre use a sports touring tyre rather than the sprots tyres you are using.

That don't sound to bad 6000miles,when I used to tour on a Honda Pan 1300 we used to be pleased if we got that,you'd get it out of a front but after 5ish you'd be looking to change a rear,always squared off with motorways,then again 2up on a Pan is really going to test a rear,these were the old Bridgestone 020's,I don't know about more modern stuff because I stopped touring 5years ago,but I wouldn't have thought you'd get much more than 6 out of even a sports touring tyre would you ?
